Most people throng Sentosa, but forget that there is a lot worthwhile to see at Mt. Faber park. Actually, Mt. Faber is not the only mountain in this park, but the Singapore Government has nicely linked Mt. Faber, Telok Blangah Hill, Hort Park and Labrador Park all into a 10km walkway.
You can start ascending Mt. Faber after exiting Harbourfront MRT, following the exit that says Marang Trail. I would say the climb is pretty steep, though it takes hardly any time to reach the summit. This is a shot from the summit of Mt. Faber:

After that, if you keep walking, you'll reach these wave-like bridge structure called Henderson Waves. If you are a fan of selfies and the camera, this is the right place for you. If you are not, you'll love the scenic views of the Singapore city skyline from here.
After this, I took the trail that led to Hort Park. You will have to pass through the Telok Blangah Hill forests in the process. I thought that it was lovely, with the lush greenery that is actually home to a variety of tree species, such as the saga tree. It is also called the forest walk, connected with railings like this. But before that, this is a photo from the Terrace Garden, the highest point of Telok Blangah Hill. Well constructed, the terraces are very pretty. These are the terrace gardens, and following that is a picture of the walkways through the forests:
Like I mentioned earlier, the Telok Blangah Hill forests have rich biodiversity. Be mindful of this, as tropical rainforests are very valuable, and harming them in any way is absolute recklessness and ungratefulness for all that the trees do for us. I know I sound very corny, but the reason I am saying this is that I was particularly disappointed when I saw this:
Bamboo trees can live up to a 100 years and are prominent symbols in Chinese, Japanese and Korean cultures, with each culture attaching a different meaning to these gorgeous plants. Bamboo wood is also commonly used in making sushi mats, chopping boards, and so on. Vandalism should never be indicted on any plant, regardless of its specie.
After Telok Blangah Hill, you'll soon reach Hort Park. There are many gardens there, and you will fancy them if you love floral varieties. From Hort Park, you have a choice of going either to Labrador Park or to Kent Ridge Park. It began to rain that day, stripping me off a chance to visit either to catch sunset views, but if and when I go back there, I will update. Till then.
